Does e-invoicing apply to a business my size?
Reviewed June 2026
E-invoicing — reporting B2B invoices to the government portal for a unique IRN before they're valid — applies once your aggregate turnover crosses a notified threshold in any financial year since GST began. That threshold has been lowered several times, so businesses that were comfortably outside it have found themselves inside it at the next notification.
Being ready early is a genuine advantage: your billing flows smoothly from day one of applicability, your customers' input credits flow without friction, and your systems get tested without deadline pressure.
If your turnover is anywhere near the current limit — or you'd simply like certainty — we can confirm your position and, where it applies, set your invoicing up so the IRN step is invisible to your daily routine.
